James Beasley, AIA.

James brings a deeply rooted sense of sustainability to all projects he designs. After starting his career as a carpenter creating green custom homes on the coast of Maine, James has made sustainability the basis of his design philosophy and approach.

Over the past 15 years James has worked with clients and contractors to create a Living Building Challenge project-Petal Certified, a self-sufficient off the grid home, a Passive House certified award- winning home and several net-zero to net-positive homes.

James’s focus and underlying design mission is to make spaces that are focused on improving the lives of their inhabitants, reinforcing how they want to live, and to create daily moments of peace.

When not thinking about buildings, he enjoys spending time with his family, preferably outside, spending time on and in the water, and making music with friends.

James is a registered Architect in Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts.  He is a member of the AIA, a member of the Portland Society of Architects and is NCARB certified.
